  • Raised in Ventura, mother of three - all attending Ventura Unified Schools and husband, Ramsey,  is a physician who manages a County affiliated clinic which cares for the underserved populations

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Attended K-12 in Ventura Unified Schools
  • Graduate of UCLA with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physiological Sciences
  • Post-graduate work at UCLA School of Medicine
  • Graduated from San Diego State University with a Master’s of Science degree

  • Oxnard College Adjunct Faculty

  • Part-time Fitness Instructor, Pierpont Racquet Club

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

  • Member P.T.A. since 2002 and P.T.O. since 2008 – earning a Very Special Person Award in 2009
  • Working with VUSD on their Carol M. White Physical Ed & Nutrition grant
  • Volunteer and Workshop Presenter at Oxnard College Youth Conference – this conference encourages and supports students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).  The conference was aimed Oxnard area high school juniors and seniors.
  • Member A LEAN VC – Public Health Coalition to improve community health
  • Volunteer, Network for a Healthy California –  a statewide movement of local, state and national partners collectively working toward improving the health status of low-income Californians through increased fruit and vegetable consumption and daily physical activity
  • Volunteer and Board Member, All American Ballet Company – a non-profit dance company whose goal is to promote the art and sport of dance throughout Ventura County
  • Supporter & Sponsor, National Charity League Juniors

PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Nominated for the Wallace Stevens Award for Excellence as Oxnard College instructor.
  • Nominated by peers at CLU during my first year of instruction as a faculty member who is exemplary in undergraduate instruction
  • Published research while at UCLA School of Medicine and also at SDSU.
