As a parent and an educator, I see the need for active involvement at every level of a child’s development. Education is extremely important to me and I am uniquely qualified to be an education champion. I am a product of local public schools, I’m a parent of three public school children and I teach at Oxnard College and Calif. Lutheran University.
I believe my experience and perspective will be incredibly valuable on the County Board of Education and I know I can be an effective advocate for children, parents and teachers. I will be able to bring my experiences from the classroom and from the home to the County Board of Education to make sure that all children, regardless of background, are given the opportunity to succeed.
I plan to:
- promote career education pathways,
- collaborate to improve children’s health,
- support safe schools that are fiscally sound,
- be an advocate and resource for local school districts.
